When we saw the contest booth, some friends and I thought: “This is so doable. Let’s go hard at it and kick butt!”

The chance to win a ski weekend for something so simple as collecting bottles and bringing them in – something we do anyway – how amazing is that?

We formed a network of people to help – everyone going on the ski trip, friends who don’t like skiing, family, friends, and people in the restaurant business. We collected loads at parties.

We attended a film premiere where Monster was giving away energy drinks. We asked if we could collect empty cans, and Eddie, Emily, Sarah and I filled a few garbage bags.

As a student, returning bottles has always been a source of income for me. But since this contest, I’ve kept a bag in my car and collected bottles everywhere I go. It’s become a habit!
